Looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, Whitney Port was spotted with coffee in-hand while out in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday afternoon (September 28).

The former "Hills" starlet showed off her effortlessly cool style as she carried on with the day's tasks, pairing a white tank with ripped gray washed jeans and a pair of bright red flats as she breezed by the nearby paps.

Whitney, who just debuted her fall 2011 collection, dished about how she creates her signature looks, telling The Wall Street Journal, "I think I design for myself and my friends and my sisters. I think about what they wear on a daily basis and what they think they need. I do a little market research with them, like 'What do you want for next season?' I combine that together with the inspiration I get from the travel I do."

As for her one piece of style advice for fans, Miss Port explained, "It’s not necessarily about what everyone else is wearing or what’s on trend or what the celebrities are wearing. If it doesn’t work for you, you don’t have to go with it."
