Michael Douglas' Jailed Son: Witness in Drug Trial
Making good on his plea deal, Cameron Douglas, the jailed son of Michael Douglas. offered up his testimony against his prior drug-dealing associates in Manhattan Federal Court yesterday (October 4).
While taking the stand as the prosecution's star witness in the drug conspiracy trial against David Escalera, the 32-year-old admitted his involvement in a narcotics dealing operation at two different times - first from 2007-07, and then again in 2009, according to New York's Daily News.
During his testimony, Douglas identified Escalera as the dealer who supplied him with cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin in clandestine meetings at various gas stations, restaurants and even his home, telling, "We started to become friends. We spent more time together, stuff like that."
In his next round of deliverance, Douglas pointed to Escalera's brother Eduardo as the one who supplied in drugs to sell as part of the trio's bi-coastal drug ring.
With no sight of his famous family members in the court room for his first appearance, Cameron is expected back in court today.
